Bandalag Íslenskra Skáta is the national Scout and Guide organisation of Iceland. It was founded in 1912 and has around 3750 members. Iceland made history when in 1944 they became the first country in the world to create a joint Scouting and Guiding association.

The Head of Contingent is Thorey Lovisa Sigmundsdottir.

Iceland is a country in the North Atlantic with and area 103,000km2 and a population of 360,390! It is the most sparsely populated country in Europe. Iceland is home to some of the largest glaciers in Europe and some of the worlds most active volcanoes! Because of this it’s often referred to the Land of Ice and Fire.
