Guiding in Malta began in 1918, as part of the Guide Association UK. In 1923 Maltese girls began to form their own organisation. These later merged in 1938 to create the Malta Girl Guides Association (MGGA).

The Head of Contingent is Chantelle Galea.

Malta is a southern European Island lying 80km south of Italy in the Mediterranean sea. Malta is the world’s 10th smallest and 5th most densely populated sovereign country! The city of Valletta, the countries capital, is recognised by UNESCO as being one of the most concentrated historical areas in the world.
