Visa Information

Despite the fact that the majority of the participants of the European Jamboree are citizens of the member countries of the European Union, the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the UK, the Jamboree Organisation in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide and facilitate necessary support for those Contingents whose citizens are requested by Polish and European Law to possess a valid short-term visa to enter Poland.

In every case related to the visa support kindly please contact us at [email protected].

Citizens of the European Union, the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the United Kingdom are eligible to travel to Poland without a visa on a basis of a valid travel document (national identification card or passport).

Citizens of certain countries must hold a short stay visa to enter Poland. The EU has a common list of countries whose citizens must have a visa when crossing the external borders. The reference list of that countries and detailed procedure is explained in the Circular No. 2/2020 Visa Guidelines submitted to the Head of Contingents on 25 February 2020.

Visa applications are submitted in person (in the case of minors with their parents) at the territorially competent Consulate/Embassy of the Republic of Poland. In the case of countries in which Poland does not have diplomatic and consular representation, visa applications should be submitted to the Consulates/Embassies of EU Member States with which Poland has signed visa representation agreements or when Poland does not have such agreements in the relevant Consulate/Embassy of the Republic of Poland, which are additionally accredited in these countries.

List of the consular posts of the Republic of Poland may be found at the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

https://www.gov.pl/web/diplomacy/polands-missions-abroad

The visa procedure should start after completing the registration of all members of the Contingent in Marcato – the European Jamboree 2020 registration system (stage 1 and stage 2 of the registration process). Please note that due to the varied availability of terms allowing the submission of visa applications, the process of obtaining visas may take longer than usual. We encourage you to apply for a visa as soon as possible.

Applicants for visas at Polish consulates/embassies:

  • should complete visa application form online via E-KONSULAT online system (e-konsulat.gov.pl)
  • arrange an appointment via the E-KONSULAT online system (e-konsulat.gov.pl).

We encourage you to submit applications and arrange appointments as soon as possible. If you encounter problems in the availability of dates or functionality of the e-consulate system, please contact us at [email protected] so that we can forward your comments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In the case of persons who will submit visa applications at the consulates/embassies of EU Member States representing Poland, the rules for arranging meetings should be verified at these consulates / embassies.

The Jamboree Organisation produces and delivers, on request of the Head of Contingent, the Official Visa Support Letter (OVSL) as agreed with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Letters will be produced for each member of the Contingent (participants, Adult Patrol Leaders, IST and CMT members) and delivered in hard copy to the Member Organisation/National Scout Organisation. It is necessary to present the OVSL to the consular service in the visa process. The OVSL confirms that particular member of the Contingent is in good standing with the Jamboree Organisation and is participating in the European Jamboree 2020.

We request all Contingents to indicate their need to receive OVSL by e-mailing the Jamboree Organisation at [email protected] by 15 March 2020.

After submitting the visa application, the consular post will confirm with the Jamboree Organisation that an invitation has been issued for the person concerned.

After registering the final list of participants of the European Jamboree 2020 in Marcato, the list of participants will be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which will forward them to the relevant consular posts.

Please note that the requirements of consulates/embassies vary from country to country. Before submitting your application, contact the relevant consular department or read the information on the official consulate / embassy website.

For other issues requiring discussion, please contact the Jamboree Organisation at [email protected].
